Global Lunchbox

The Global Lunchbox, hosted by the Weinberg College Center for International & Area Studies at Northwestern University, is a weekly forum that features conversations with scholars in the social sciences and humanities about their current research on a range of critical global issues.

The Global Lunchbox convenes live (most) Fridays at 12pm CT on Zoom, and is also a podcast available on SoundCloud. The series is hosted by Ian Hurd, Professor of Political Science and Director of the Weinberg College Center for International & Area Studies at Northwestern. (Check our events calendar for upcoming Global Lunchbox programs.)

Each week we talk with a guest about their projects and about the passions and curiosities that motivate them. We also explore how they do their work — the research process they go through to produce the finished product. Global Lunchbox conversations tackle everything from global events to academic controversies.
